MEET THE TEAM

 Jill Douglas - President/Sales

I joined SJB Promotions in May of 2002, when Sheila and Joel Burwash hired me after leaving the teaching profession. In November of 2009, my husband, D. Jay, and I purchased SJB Promotions from Sheila and Joel. We are honored to continue their tradition of superior customer service and detail to our clients.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in English from Eastern Illinois University and am active in Rotary Club of Lincoln, Illinois.

My husband Jay and I live in Mason City, IL, where we are raising our two children, Colleen and Corey.

 Sheila Burwash - Sales

After getting my start in the Advertising Industry in 1983, My Husband Joel and I began our own Company in 1993…SJB Promotions, after purchasing Our Beautiful Office Building at 651 ½ East Pells Street in Paxton, IL. In November of 2009, We passed the Baton to Jill Douglas and her Husband Jay. Jill has been an Integral Member of Our SJB Promotions Sales Team for Many Years and We are Pleased to Have Jill at the Helm, while I Happily Remain with Them as a Sales Representative Continuing to Provide My Customers (Who Are Also Good Friends !), With Ideas and Solutions for Their Promotional Projects and Events.

With Our Roots Firmly Planted in Farm Living and the Agri-Industry, I continue to Specialize with Agri-Business Clients. I’ve been an Active Member of the Grain & Feed Association of Illinois for 27 Years, Supporting GFAI Not Only thru Membership but also as a Veteran Exhibitor at their Annual Convention and Serving on Multiple GFAI Committees during that time. We also continue our 17 Year Membership and Support of The Illinois Fertilizer Association.

Another Special Love of Mine is Collegiate Sports Travel. We have been Licensed for Many Universities and the College Bowl Games Since 1995 and Love the Challenge of finding the Perfect Souvenir Gift with On Time Delivery for the Traveling Alumni !

On a Personal Note, I received my License as a Veterinary Technician in 1977 which I continue to maintain. I belong to the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, United States Equestrian Federation, Arabian Horse Association, Arabian Horse Trust and The Illinois Arabian Horse Association, of which, I also am Past President and currently serving on the Board of Directors. I also served as Show Manager for 2 of the Largest Class “A” Arabian Horse Shows in the Midwest for 6 Years, retiring in 2008. Joel and I have been Strong Supporters and Volunteers for The Salem Children’s Home in Flanagan, IL, (Now known as “Salem Ranch”) Since 1991. Salem is a Christian Children’s Home for Troubled and Abused Children with a World Renowned Horse Therapy Program which Utilizes Primarily Arabian Horses.

Joel, My Wonderful Supportive Husband of 38 Years (and a 35 Year Veteran of NICOR Gas, retiring in 2003), and I live on Our Little Family Farm with Our 5 Arabian Horses, 2 Dogs and 6 Cats. We Love Training, Riding and Showing Our Horses and Enjoying God’s Gifts of Nature. We Raise Hay, Enjoy Working on the Farm, and are Looking Forward to a Little More Time to Spend Enjoying Each Other !

 Syndi Jones - Office Manager

I am excited to be at SJB Promotions. I came aboard in October 2009 and have had a great first impression. I enjoy working with the sales staff and helping them order and maintain products for their clients. There is never a dull moment here.

At home, I have four beautiful daughters that keep me busy. They are all content to be running crazy with Mom at the wheel. They participate in swim team, cheerleading, volleyball, Girl Scouts, dance and church activities. We are new to the Paxton area and have felt very welcome here by the community. My wonderful husband spends his time working and attending school while participating in the Illinois National Guard and being a great support to me and our girls. I hope to be here in Paxton for a long time to come, raising our family and working at SJB Promotions!

 Ryan Swaar - Sales

I've been an artist ever since I could hold a crayon. At least that's what my parents have always told me. I'm a Graphic and Web Designer/Photographer from Mason City, IL where I live with my wonderful wife DeShea and our son Parker. D.R.Swaar Designs began in early 2001 with small websites for friends and family. In the past decade, I have had the opportunity to work with large and small businesses, schools, bands, newspapers and even a college magazine that I started with 3 friends.  Rachel Curry - Sales

I started working at SJB Promotions while I was a Junior in high school. I assisted Jill with filing, orders and anything else I could help out with. When I graduated from Illini Central in 2009, I left Mason City to attend college at Lincoln Land Community College, where I was planning on studying business. I moved back home in June of 2010 and happily began working with Jill once again, where I am now in sales.

In October of 2010, I began attending cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell the School in Normal. I stay very busy, but plan on continuing working at SJB Promotions as long as I possibly can!

I am currently living in Mason City, where most of my family is from, including my mother Lynn- who is also in sales at SJB Promotions, my father and my younger brother.
